Missing out on some real dark reality!
Black mirror is a British television series and a creation of Charlie Brooker. It is not only thought provoking but alarmingly disturbing, creepy, ghastly and horrifying.
It was first aired on British Television in 2011 and is now available on Netflix as well as YouTube. It revolves around a group of people’s personal lives, (mind you, you maybe be next) and mainly focuses on how technology manipulates their behavior. It simply shows a much darker side of you.
This speculative fiction is set up with a perfect combination of satirical and dark themes of modern techno-savvy society, particularly with regard to the unanticipated consequences of new technologies boosting up.
There are three seasons that have been launched till now.
- Season One (Three episodes)– The National Anthem, Fifteen Milli on Merits, And The Entire History Of You.
- Season Two (Four Episodes)– Be Right Back, White Bear, The Waldo Moment, White Christmas.
- Season Three (Six Episodes)– Nosedive, Play test, Shutup & Dance, San Junipero, Men Against Fire, Hate in the nation.
What makes a series powerful is that it doesn’t just present to us a collection of stories where technology turns on us, but where we use technology to such an extreme level to turn us on. You will definitely need a tardis to transport you back to before, where you first heard about Black Mirror so that each episode can surprise you all over again. Because it is clever yet entertaining, social commentary yet different and no doubt has a wow effect since it doesn’t leave a stone unturned to rack one’s brain.
And if you have not watched this mind blowing British series, then you are missing out a lot.
